At the Bgo Club AGM last week positions were set for the coming year for the club, you will notice that the position of club races has a question mark beside it. That is because no one or group, at this point, have put there hands up. Positions filled are:
Social Rides: Peter Carr
Major Events: John Harvey
Licences & finances : Ron Mc Culloch
Implications are that there will be no club races until the position is filled. We will be having Social rides, 14th Oct, the ROCKSHOX Epic, a Round of the Vic XC State series Jan 13 and the 12 hr in March 14th.
Maybe we don't need to run club races?
There are plenty of state and endurances events being run, eg the 1st state series race is on 7th Oct at Castlemaine.
On Sunday a number of riders decided to race the road than the MTB race.

Hi all,

I for one love the club races, particularily the handicap races as it gives everyone a chance at the podium - even mugs like me or "bandits" like Mr Flood.

The club rides also give the kids a chance for a ride and as we saw last week it is growing in popularity with them.

Being in Bacchus Marsh and involved in kids sports committees etc, means I'm unable to give you a hand with the local races. I do try and attend everyone I can as a sign of support - I also love the tracks and the friendly Bendigo atmosphere/people.

So, yes we need local club races and I hope someone can stand up and give John & the others a helping hand.

It just needs someone to pull it all together this includes:

Deciding on dates of events (I will put them on the website)
Confirming dates with landowners or putting in a permit to DSE or NRE.
Communication with Brendan if it is a handicapped event otherwise arranging for someone to do the timing (we have a club computer with the timing program)
Emailing people with set up times of event of the Saturday arvo.
Putting out MTB signs on road
Turn up early to coordinate rego info forms etc. (or arrange for someone to do this)
Get trailer to and from (or arrange someone to do this)

Media person is
sending results to addy along with a write up of the events.
Contacting media re doing articles on events, special events etc.
Coming to club meeting.

Obviously others in the club will provide support in this role.
